Meet the Team
BJJ Black Belt
I started kick boxing in New Zealand 7 years ago and when I came back to Australia I joined Infinity Martial Arts in Springfield. I begun MMA but quickly found a passion for Jiu Jitsu after competing in a few local competitions.
My life drastically changed losing a massive amount of weight as I walked through the door at 115kg losing a total of 35kg!
I not only changed my nutrition but I left my monotonous job to pursue a job in the health and fitness industry. I wanted to give back what I had learnt which eventually led me to coaching here at Infinity where I hope to give the same opportunities I was given.
I have competed all over Australia with a top 3 national ranking over the last 3 years. I was awarded my black belt from Neil Owen after 4.5 years and remain an active competitor and professional fighter under for Infinity Marital Arts and as a sponsored Hyperfly and Fight Life athlete.
I want to give everyone the same opportunity I had to grow that as I once had.

BJJ Purple Belt
My journey started at Infinity Martial Arts Springfield after many months of Robbie insisting I join him on the mats for ‘quality time’ together. When the deal was made that if he came home with a Gi I would give it a go, in true Robbie style he returned home that evening with a Gi. As a female it was initially a very strange and almost scary experience to throw myself into an environment where I was essentially rolling around on the floor in a robe like outfit with strangers in my personal bubble.
Since joining Infinity Martial Arts, I have competed in tournaments throughout Australia gaining an impressive stash of medals. Throughout my journey I have taken time off to welcome our daughter Amiria to our family and since then been awarded my purple belt. Like Robbie I am also a sponsored Hyperfly Australia athlete.
I am very passionate about fostering an environment for young children to explore and learn in a supportive environment. With a background in Early Childhood Education it’s no wonder the 2-4 group are secretly one of my favourite groups to teach.
As a female, and as a mother, I encourage all women to step outside their comfort zone and give Brazilian Jiu Jitsu a go. The phrase ‘knowledge is power’ is spot on. I am grateful for all the lessons I have learnt, friendships I have made, confidence I have gained and opportunities that have come from taking the risk and putting on that Gi to go to class and I can honestly say have not looked back!
I am looking forward to getting back on the mats after the birth of our second daughter and building the Infinity team in Sandgate.
BJJ Blue Belt
I have been a member of Infinity Martial Arts studying Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since 2013. I started learning Jiu Jitsu after it was suggested it would help me with rugby league tackling. I continued to train in both sports and soon became more focused on my Jiu Jitsu training.
In 2014 I entered my first competition, it was scary, I was nervous, and I did not know what to expect. I was very lucky to have my coaches on the sideline encouraging me to do my best. I walked away with a Bronze medal. Since then I have entered many competitions and have not only come away with bronze, silver and gold medals, but also with greater knowledge.
My favourite submission at the moment is the ‘omoplata‘. I train 4 – 5 times a week and work as a Junior Instructor for Infinity Martial Arts. Working as a Junior Instructor allows me to pass on the knowledge I have been taught to the younger students.
I really enjoy the support I receive from the Infinity instructors and the friendships I have built while at the club. Jiu Jitsu has helped to improve my overall confidence and given me the passion to continue my future pathway in the Physical Fitness field.
BJJ Brown Belt
I started training martial arts with Tae Kwon Do until a friend convinced me to come and trial some BJJ classes with him and I was hooked. I Joined Infinity at the opening of the Caboolture Academy in 2013.
My coaching journey began when I started assisting with my daughter Emily’s class and soon progressed to teaching adults classes as well. I completed a couple of coaching courses under Infinity’s head coach Neil Owen and spent some time at North Lakes academy, training and coaching before relocating to the Sandgate area to be closer to UNI.
Training BJJ has steered me towards a healthier lifestyle and shown me that with hard work and dedication I can achieve meaningful things and become proficient in a particular skill. It has demonstrated to me that if I can do that with BJJ then I can do it in other aspects of my life too.
The thing I like about BJJ is that you are rewarded for focusing on details and technique and are able to use your knowledge to overcome stronger training partners. Recently I have added striking and wresting practice into my schedule but BJJ remains my favorite discipline.
I am always striving to make my technique better and I enjoy helping others achieve the same so we can push each other forward and grow stronger as a team.
