When I was born I couldn’t walk

When I was born I couldn’t walk. None of us can and none of us make plans on how to walk and yet we still manage to get there. It is very rare in Jiu Jitsu and Martial Arts to have things work out for us in the way we plan them or dream them, but if you look back through those times you can usually connect the dots and see why things turned out the way they did, for me it has always been as a result of my actions whether consciously or sub-consciously.

If I let someone else’s vision of my dream affect me this is my fault, If I surround my self with the wrong people it is my fault, I am the master of my own destiny, Will things go wrong of course but as I said above when I connect all the dots I can see why things went wrong and I can learn from this and that puts me a step closer to my goal.

I have 2 analogies for attacking Jiu Jitsu, Martial Arts or any new goal for that matter one is I have to throw the ball up if I want it to come down, so when ever I want something I try to remind my self that to get a result I must set the process in motion, the second is when building anything the foundations take as long to build as the pretty part.

So my advice to all including my self is embrace the grind, enjoy the process and take responsibility for your own learning, as only you truly understand your vision/dream.
